Abstract :
This work deals with the modelling and control of synchronous reluctance machines. This type of electrical machine, without permanent magnet, has overall performances between those of permanent magnet synchronous machines and asynchronous machines. In this thesis, we first consider the electrical modelling of the machine. Starting from a simple model, we progressively complexify it until the residual magnetism is taken into account.
The various models presented are supported by numerous experimental measurements in order to judge their relevance. Thus, experimental issues are often taken into account. In particular, the calibration of the position sensor is studied in depth in the third chapter.
On-line estimation techniques are developed to identify the parameters related to residual magnetism. These methods are then used to facilitate the use of the synchronous reluctance machine as a controlled generator in a grid disconnected area. This specific application is the subject of the last chapter.
An analysis of the system led to the identification of two distinct phases.
The first is the self-starting of the generator, the second is the control of the generator to maintain a constant DC voltage.
Based on the previously developed model, we propose a method that improves the controlled self-starting capability of the generator. We also propose a control law that regulates the DC voltage during the second identified phase.
